Monkey Business

Bobby's Aunt Kelsey & Uncle Mike got him an adorable stuffed monkey that we have placed in his crib. This morning when he woke up he was cuddling it and trying to chew it's arm off...

Can't help but post the best monkey quote from SNL...."Vould you like to touch my monkey? Touch him! Love him! Liebe meine abst-monkey.....Now is the time on Sprockets vhen ve dance!"

Do I have something on my face?

Everyone has a picture of their child eating rice cereal for the first time... here's ours! When Reggie walks by, Bobby loses all focus on eating -- he'd rather laugh at dad and spit out half of every bite! But alas, we make it through and everything on the chin and bib eventually finds its way into Bobby's mouth.
Chillin' in my favorite chair w/ my Irish gear. Thanks, Harris, for the awesome jersey!

4 Month Check-up

Bobby went for his 4 month check-up today. Here are his stats:

- 16 lbs, 9 oz (about 85th percentile)
- 26 inches long (90th percentile)
- Head is 17 3/4 inches (97th percentile!)

He got another round of shots and did even better than last time. He only cried during the first shot and calmed down right away. I sent him to daycare with some Tylenol just in case he gets a fever or is fussy from his shots. But so far he's been a trooper!

The latest development in Bobby's life is that he can now roll from belly-to-back as well as back-to-belly. We're working on getting him more comfortable on his belly because once he lays down to go to bed, he rolls himself over within a couple of hours... and I'm sure we all know what happens next.... the end result a very sleepy mom and dad! However, if the last 4 months have taught us anything it is that Bobby goes through many phases, and hopefully this one will pass soon!

Next milestone is solid food. His pediatrician told us today that we can start introducing rice cereal whenever we want. Reggie is out of town for work today, but as soon as he gets home tomorrow, we'll try it and see how he does! Not many pictures lately, but here are a couple.

Bobby's Baptism

Bobby was baptized on Sunday, October 5th. We were lucky enough to have my brother Steve and his wife Tessa in town to attend since they are Bobby's godparents. Bobby did extremely well at the baptism and may have even enjoyed the water being poured over his head. In fact, Bobby was so "relaxed" during the event that he allowed himself to pass some gas when we put his head down over the water. Atta boy! Here are some pictures from the day.

Exhausted!

Bobby has had another busy couple of weeks. He started daycare three weeks ago and has been such a champ. His teachers - Ms. Trisha, Ms. Diane and Ms. Sandy - tell me he gets the Angel Baby of the Year Award. I'm sure they tell this to every new mom, but I like to believe they mean it! He does really well for them at daycare. He takes his bottles really well and falls asleep for them. His only problem is that he doesn't want to STAY asleep. There is way too much going on for him to sleep more than an hour. His longest nap has been an hour.... his shortest - 10 minutes! Needless to say, he is always exhausted when he comes home. So there hasn't been much of an opportunity for photo ops, execpt for when he is sleeping.

This past week was a big one for Bobby. He got his first cold and had his first sleepless night... (I'm glad that's over!) But he also learned how to roll from his back to his belly. We thought it was just a fluke thing, but he did it a couple nights this week and then again this morning for Reggie. He rolled from his belly to his back a few weeks ago, too. Hard to believe he is getting to be so mobile.

A busy couple of weeks

Bobby has been a busy boy lately. He went to his first ND tailgate (GO IRISH!) and started his first week of daycare. He really enjoys watching all the new kids at daycare - so much that he barely sleeps while he is there. We're hoping that he gets used to it soon so that he doesn't have major meltdowns at 5:30 every night!

Wow, is it already September??

Oh my, how time flies.... I've been pretty bad with taking pictures of Bobby lately. Here are just a few of pictures from the last several weeks. Bobby has definitely become more active and is much, much more interested in his surroundings lately. He no longer is content with just sitting in his chair enjoying the view off the deck. Rather he likes to have lots of colors to look at and toys to play with. He's becoming quite a little man. This is his last full week at home with me. Next week will start his transition into daycare - we'll do just a couple hours at a time. Then in a few weeks he will be going full time, with mom returning to work!
