9 Month Check up

Bobby had his 9 month check up (a few weeks ago....) and everything went well. The best part - no shots!! He had been a very, very happy for for the last few weeks, so we were excited not to have any shots to ruin it. Since the last post he's gotten his two bottom teeth and one of the top teeth has popped through. He is crawling all over the place and has started "cruising" around the furniture.

Fun in the Kitchen

Bobby has learned how to get up the step from his playroom into the kithen and has had fun exploring all the new 'toys'. He has long since mastered the art of crawling and is now pulling up on to things. He has gotten a few "boo boo badges" at school from pulling up on things and taking a tumble, but he's gotten much better.
I've been gone 2-3 nights a week working in Chicago, so Reggie's mom has been so kind to take videos and send them to me while I'm gone! Although it's nice to get a full night's sleep while I'm away, I certainly do miss my two favorite boys!

Merry Christmas... Happy New Year... Been slackin!

It's been quite a while since I've written with any Bobby updates. Mom and dad have both been pretty busy with work - and when we haven't been working, we've been helping Bobby to get over his latest ailment.... Since his last posting, Bobby has had quite a lot going on. Right after his 6 month check up, there was a pinkeye scare at daycare and Bobby had a bit of it for a couple of days. Then near the end of the week he spiked a fever and developed a very bad cold. It turned out he had RSV, which was no picnic. He lost a couple of pounds and was a pretty sick boy over the holidays. But what a trooper he was -- as long as we kept him entertained he forgot how yucky he felt! Then after the 1st of the year, he developed a stomach virus and was throwing up all night on Bobby and Dad's first night alone together. After a few days of pedialyte, he started to get back to normal and then regressed later the next week. It was, again, on a night that I was away for work - Bobby threw up again in the middle of the night. Reggie and his mom took Bobby to the doctor and found out that his stomach bug has caused him to have an intolerance to his milk-based formula. So, we switched things up and got him back into the swing of things. He was on soy based formula all weekend long. It stayed in him much better - but man, oh man, does he STINK!!! The nurse said because of the rice in it, he will have some gas and it will take a while to get used to. Hopefully this will be the last thing he has to deal with for a while. He has lost 2 oz since his 6 month check up, so he needs to stay healthy to keep packing on the pounds!
While Bobby has been sick for the past 6 weeks, he's also grown up quite a bit. He is now crawling all over the place. Gone are the days of the whole family laying in bed together on Saturday morning. Bobby likes to get up and go! He has also learned how to sit up without support. Sometimes he gets really excited, flaps his arms and tips over, but does pretty well sitting up otherwise. At daycare last week, he started taking after his bigger friends and pulled himself up on the shelves. Luckily, they noticed it soon enough and caught him both times when he fell over. He is a little stinker. We're hoping that he won't learn to walk very soon.... it's all over once that happens!!

Besides that, nothing else too major has been going on in Bobby's life. Here are several pictures from the last 6 weeks!

6 month checkup

Bobby went for his 6 month check up today.... here are his stats:

Weight: - 18 pounds, 7 ounces - 75th percentile
Height: - 27 3/4 inches - 90th percentile
Head: - 18 1/4 inches - 97th percentile, which means his head doens't fit through some 9 month shirts...

The doctor told us we can start introducing a sippy cup and give him some things like cheerios, bread, crackers, etc. We're still getting used to the cereal, so I'm not sure if we'll go for the real stuff right away. But it's good to know we can start giving him those things. We'll try out some turkey and mashed potatoes at Christmas!

Thanksgiving and stuff

Since the last post, Bobby has been a busy boy. He had a nasty cold for a couple of weeks, then at the tail end of his cold he got his first ear infection. He was sent home from daycare with a fever of almost 103. However, after that, he never got the fever back, but was just a little unhappy with his ear. We got some antiobiotics and he now seems much better! Bobby also met the Iams crew at his very first Thanksgiving. We were there 3 1/2 hours and that was enough to wear him out - we left at 4 pm and he was asleep for the night! Here are several pictures of the last few weeks....
